Send Us A Drive

HomeSend Us A Drive

What To Do

If you don’t live within easy travelling distance of us, we also accept jobs via post. You can contact us for an estimate before sending us a drive if you wish, however we will always contact you upon receipt of the drive with a quote for recovery of your data. If we can’t recover your data or you decline the quote the only thing you pay for is the return postage of your drive.

Packaging

If you wish to send us a drive please ensure it is packed which sufficient packing material to prevent further damage in transit and also preferably in an anti-static bag. If you don’t have an anti-static bag, placing it inside a large paper envelope should suffice. Do not just put it in a plastic bag with little or no packaging. We advise that at least 5cm of foam surrounds the drive to prevent further damage.

Please do ensure you put a note of your name and contact details in the box with the drive so we can match the drive with your form submission, it gets quite confusing at our end if we receive a drive and we dont know who its from!

Please be as thorough as you can with the details of the form as this will greatly aid us in recovering your data.

Data Recovery Submission

If we are unable to recover data from your device then we will not charge for our attempt other than for the assessment and diagnosis (inspection fee) of the device(s) which is £55.00 inc VAT per device, with the exception of multi disk RAID arrays where the charge is £60.00 inc VAT per disk. Return postage for smaller items such as hard drives, USB drives and phones are included in the inspection fee.

If donor parts are required to make an attempt at recovering then these parts may be charged for even in the event of a failed recovery though you will be made aware of the costs before we proceed and we will always seek permission for this before hand. In cases where it is uncertain if the data you require is or was actually located on the media/device provided to us, we will treat this is a speculative recovery and may charge you for the attempted recovery if it becomes evident the data you require was never on the media, we have not been given the full story of how the data was lost, someone else has made the data unrecoverable or interfered with the drive or data, or the wrong media/device has been provided.

Our pricing is per drive/media/device excluding RAID array jobs.

We require permission to open the drive if necessary to provide a quote or recover data.

We will discount the inspection fee from the final bill on all standard jobs. The inspection fee is not refunded in the event of you rejecting the recovery quote. We will provide a quote for recovery after inspection, which you are not obliged to accept if it is above our minimum charges as detailed in our minimum fees section below.

For efficiency: Data recovery is often a time consuming process and often requires a lot of work to diagnose if something is recoverable at all. So we can work efficiently we require permission to recover the data from your drive without further contact if the cost for the recovery (excluding and new storage media required) will be equal to or less than our minimum costs as detailed here.

Minimum Costs Per Device -
USB Drive or Memory Card: £149 inc VAT
Mechanical Hard Drive: £199 inc VAT
Solid State Drive: £199 inc VAT

I made a mistake of putting new RAM in the wrong slots. Took the PC to the shop and within a few hours PC was fixed and sorted. Fast service friendly and approachable. Answered all my questions and communicated through the whole situation … More and decent price as well. Would use again in the future.

Although I decided not to go ahead with a repair through TechRescue, I really appreciated their honesty and the clarity of their communication. They gave me a realistic and thoughtful appraisal of the situation with my liquid-damaged MacBook … More Pro—no hard sell, just good advice, even though it meant I might not use their service. That kind of transparency is rare and worth acknowledging. Would definitely consider them again in the future for other repairs.
