If you are dropping the drive off in person at our office then we will discuss some ball park estimates with you on booking the job into our system for diagnostics, if you are sending us the drive then we do recommend calling or emailing first so we can discuss the case with you.
Once we have inspected and diagnosed the device or drive, we will send a formal quote across via email. There is no obligation to accept this quote, however if you do decline it then we will charge an inspection fee of £55 inc VAT if the formal quote falls within the ballpark estimate we had previously discussed with you. This fee covers a thorough assessment of the drive, return shipping or secure destruction of the device, depending on whether you want the device returned.
As a rough guide, most data recoveries are in the £89 – £419 Inc VAT Range. If we can’t recover your data there’s no charge! We advise all our customers to contact us first before going any further.
We also strongly advise you to leave the drive switched off until the drive has been looked at by a professional to prevent further damage or loss of data.
Recovering data from an undamaged hard drive or SSD can come in as little as £89.00 Inc VAT, an example would be where your laptop has died but the drive inside is undamaged. Devices that are physically undamaged but have suffered corruption can be recovered from £159.00 Inc VAT. Mechanical / Spinning drives that have suffered internal physical damage can be recovered from £419.00 Inc VAT, drives will usually be making clicking/scratching noises or have been dropped if they have suffered internal damage.
SSD data recovery prices do vary as they are very complex, we are happy to speak to you about the possibilities of recovery, what is realistic and what the cost would likely be, and of course we will provide a quote upon inspection of the device.
A USB Flash drive with physical damage can be recovered from £159.00 Inc VAT.
Due to the nature of data recovery, we must see the drive to provide an accurate quote. Recovery on some drives can be a very complex and time consuming job, often requiring more than the parts from more than one donor drive, it’s simply impossible to give an accurate forecast of what the cost might be without spending some time with the device or drive though we are happy to discuss the most likely outcomes if you get in contact with us.
Our standard turn-around time is between 3-10 days. If you are in a hurry then please let us know and we will do our very best to expedite your recovery job.
