This is a common issue. Perhaps you get a flashing folder or just a spinning cursor. Common causes are failing or failed hard drives and software issues.
We repair motherboards! One of very few repair shops capable of fixing iMac board faults at the component level. Boards can get damaged due to liquid getting inside, power surges caused by dodgy chargers or sometimes just down to bad luck and age. If you have been told that your Macbook motherboard/logicboard needs to be replaced by either Apple themselves or another repair shop then let us have a look and see if we can offer you a repair usually at about 30% of the cost of replacing the board.
Quite often iMacs develop loose hinges or the hinges themselves can become broken. We can fix this issue so the screen doesn’t fall down and remains in position. We can also replace screens on a number of iMac models, common issues with these are graphical corruption or colour banding on the screen.
